Roam is a high-fidelity mobile app prototype designed to make cultural learning more accessible for travelers with limited international experience or access. Through seven short interviews and one in-depth, hour-long interview, research revealed a need for engaging, approachable ways to learn about local cultures, social norms, and history before and during travel.
As a result, after creating three possible prototypes, I developed a location-based experience inspired by Pokémon Go that gamifies cultural discovery from home, encouraging users to explore, learn, and engage with their surroundings in an interactive and personalized way.
